Custom:Privacy policy
This page describes how the Wiki for Sustainable IT processes personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data controller
INR – Institut du Numérique Responsable, a French non-profit association (loi 1901)
- RNA: W173009044
- SIREN: 848096111
- Address: Université de La Rochelle, 23 avenue Albert Einstein, 17000 La Rochelle, France
- Contact: contact@institutnr.org
- Data Protection Officer (DPO): dpo@institutnr.org
General principle
The wiki is designed to be read without an account, without cookies and without registration. Reading articles requires no personal data and involves no profiling.
Audience measurement
The wiki uses Matomo, an open-source analytics platform hosted on the INR's own servers (analytic.institutnr.org). No browsing data is passed to any third party, nor transferred outside the European Union.
Analytics are configured to meet the consent-exemption conditions defined by the French data protection authority (CNIL):
- no cookies are stored on your device (cookieless tracking enabled);
- your IP address is anonymised before any storage (last two octets masked);
- your browser's Do Not Track signal is honoured;
- user identifiers are anonymised;
- data is retained for at most 13 months, then deleted automatically;
- data is used solely to produce aggregate traffic statistics, with no advertising, no cross-referencing with other processing, and no transfer to third parties.
This is why no cookie consent banner is displayed: the wiki sets no cookies.
- Purpose: measuring traffic and improving content
- Legal basis: the INR's legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in understanding how its documentary resource is used
Contributor accounts
Accounts are not open to public registration: they are created by administrators for contributors within the INR community.
- Data processed: chosen username, password (stored in hashed form), contribution history, display preferences
- Purpose: enabling contribution to the wiki and attribution of changes
- Legal basis: performance of the relationship between the INR and its contributors
- Retention: for the lifetime of the account. Contribution history, which forms the editorial record of the wiki, is retained after an account is closed, in line with standard practice for encyclopedic projects
Edits to articles are public and linked to the username in page histories. Anonymous editing is not permitted: no contributor IP address is published in page histories.
The platform's email features are disabled: the wiki sends no messages and collects no email address for notification purposes.
Technical logs
The server keeps connection logs for security and technical diagnostics, in line with statutory retention obligations. They are not used for behavioural analysis.
Hosting
The wiki is hosted by OVH SAS (2 rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix, France), on servers located in France. No data is transferred outside the European Union.
Your rights
Under Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of data concerning you, as well as the right to data portability.
To exercise these rights, write to the Data Protection Officer: dpo@institutnr.org
You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French supervisory authority, or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
Content licence
Wiki content is published under the Creative Commons Zero (public domain) licence. By contributing, you agree that your contribution will be distributed under this licence.
